Upstream People Gallery selected five of my recent paintings for display in its 10th Annual International Abstraction Juried Exhibition. The jury singled out, “Big Wheels II”, for Special Recognition. The participating artists are arranged alphabetically, you'll find my paintings by clicking “Do - H”. The paintings are posted on the gallery's web site through December 2009 at upstreampeoplegallery.com. Juror's Statement: “Michael Griesgraber of Las Vegas, Nevada has made some bold visual statements with his use of high tonal contrasts with yellow and gold coloration. Especially strong is "Big Wheels II" in acrylic.”

Neo Action Abstraction Exhibition
Six artists were selected for the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Arts first juried show. Works by Joseph Palermo, Jenik, Constantine, Richard Bailey, Michael Wardle and Mike Griesgraber were chosen as examples of innovative directions in Action Abstraction painting. First expounded on by renown art critics Harold Rosenberg and Clement Greenberg in the early 50's, this art form, practiced by Jackson Pollack, Franz Kline, William de Kooning and others, was championed as the most significant movement in painting in decades. Several works from this exhibition, which ran from January 1 thru July 30, 2009, are now on display in the Museum’s Emporium.http://www.upstreampeoplegallery.com/exhibition/default.asp?XD=10/1/2008&AN=Dochtermann%2C+Ludwig+(Doc)http://www.snmfa.com/id3.htmlshapeimage_1_link_0shapeimage_1_link_1
