Welcome
My art studio / gallery is located on the 2nd floor of the NEONOPOLIS

Neo Action Abstraction Exhibit
This exhibit was organized by the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art (SNMFA) and traveled to the Rainforest Art Foundation Gallery in New York (October 14 through Dec. 9, 2011) . it is now on view at the SNMFA and is scheduled for additional exhibits in 2012/13.

Six of my abstract works are included in this SNMFA traveling exhibition. It is part of SNMFA’s ART Outreach program along with works by other artists including J. Palermo, Jenik, R. Bailey and M. Tseng Yu, and others. The works are chosen based on their innovative directions in abstract expressionism.

Action / Abstraction painting was first expounded by renown art critics Harold Rosenberg and Clement Greenberg in the early 50's, this art form, practiced by Jackson Pollack, Franz Kline, William de Kooning and others was championed as the most significant movement in painting in decades.

De Kooning as Muse
I met de Kooning through
my college professor,
Peter Busa, who would
often spent summers in
the Hamptons in the 60‘s
and early 70‘s. One year
he invited me along and
during my stay we visited
the Springs and spent
time with de Kooning at
his studio. I saw paintings
I would not see again
until 2011 at the MoMA de Kooning “Retrospective”. Those paintings have had an influence on my work since the first time I saw them.
