parodies

In 2004, while I was painting a copy of

Vermeer's “Girl in a Red Hat”, I decided to have a little
fun by including  a cup of coffee, muffin and a Starbucks logo in the painting. Since then I've done 26 more parodies, each one is of a well know work by famous artist. My paintings are homages to those original paintings that I admire.

Each parody is true to the original composition
while it  introduces my little java twist.  In 2005 I exhibited
the first series of originals. The grand opening included Starbucks coffee brewed and served by local Starbucks team members.  Several of original paintings were sold opening day.  I now sell  the images in the form of limited edition fine art Giclèes.  Each is 11" x 14" on deluxe archival watercolor paper signed and numbered (edition 50). They are also available in deluxe boxed sets (ten per series) for $2,000, or individually at $200. Double click the images to enlarge them. A select few are also available done as 24” x 30” oil on canvas hand embellished “Giclèes by yours truly.
